B Corp Recertification
Under the new B Lab Standards (V2.1), recertification has shifted from repeating the old three-year scoring cycle to a milestone-based improvement journey.
Instead of proving you’ve maintained a numerical score, your business now commits to:
Year 0 – Meet all foundation requirements (eligibility, risk screening, and legal change) and demonstrate minimum performance across all Impact Topics.
Year 3 – Show verified progress on additional requirements within each impact area, reflecting your company’s size, sector, and geography.
Year 5 and beyond – Continue advancing by meeting higher-level requirements, with B Lab reviewing your progress and ensuring your business is improving over time.
This milestone model ensures continuous improvement. Rather than pausing and re-starting every three years, your business stays on a forward path, deepening its impact, strengthening governance, and growing its contribution to people and planet.
You’ll still publish a B Corp impact report at each stage, keeping your stakeholders informed and accountable.
The result? Recertification is no longer just a check-up. It’s a structured roadmap for continuous, measurable improvement, helping your business stay at the leading edge of positive change.
