Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Our Commitment

At Sussex Impact Pathway, we believe that building a better economy requires a more inclusive business community.

Through affordable education, peer learning and collaborative action, we help businesses create positive social and environmental impact and make the B Corp movement more accessible to organisations from all backgrounds.

Our work influences business leaders, employees, customers, communities and the wider economy. We recognise that access to business support, professional networks and opportunities is not equal, and we are particularly mindful of the barriers faced by entrepreneurs and business owners from historically underrepresented and marginalised communities.

For us, justice, equity, diversity and inclusion means removing barriers to participation and creating learning environments where people feel respected and able to contribute. We seek out and value different experiences and perspectives from our own and strive to ensure our programmes are accessible, welcoming and relevant to a diverse range of businesses.

Increasing Access

We are committed to embedding these principles across our operations, our programmes, our relationships with customers and partners, and our contribution to the wider business community.

As one practical step towards improving access, we offer a 50% funded place on every Sussex Impact Pathway cohort to one business that is majority owned by someone from a historically underrepresented or marginalised group. Contact us to find out more or apply.

Continuous Improvement

We will continue to review our programme, communications, accessibility and partnerships to identify and reduce barriers to participation. We will listen to participant feedback, use evidence to inform improvements and adapt our approach as we learn.

Responsibility for this commitment sits with the directors of Sussex Impact Pathway.

We are accountable for ensuring these principles are reflected in our decisions, reviewing our progress regularly, and updating our approach where evidence or stakeholder feedback shows we can do better.
